Where has the time gone? So it's been 8 months since my website went live. How exciting! And then.... SILENCE. What happened? Was it lack of motivation, busyness, lazyness?
I knew what I wanted to do (in my head!) but execution kept me procrastinating. Instead, I moved my attention to self-publishing my fourth book (more on that in another blog).
Has this happened or is happening to you? Do you have goals or ideas but just don’t know where to start? Or is it doubt or the lack of time that’s stopping you? This is reality. We all have hectic lives, so how do you find the time to work on your ideas?
In my case working in front of a computer all day, the last thing I want to do is look at a laptop after getting home. Since most of us have bills to pay and can't quit our day jobs (just yet) what’s changed to make me want to start the blog now?

I definitely don’t have more time now! Honestly, I was disappointed that I hadn’t started this blog earlier. So I simply sat down and looked at how to make this work. I also looked at why I was doing this. This was important as it will keep me focused. My primary motivation remains the same - to create a community of parents encouraging one another. The aim is to be real, share our challenges and see how we can progress together. If it means bringing hope to just one person, it's worth no longer procrastinating.
Write it down…make the vision plain. I've created a simple weekly planner to keep focused and balanced. The schedule is realistic and ensures that there's also me time daily which would help be in the right head space. I love & need enough sleep to function well so when I say realistic that for me means having at least 7 hours of sleep a night! Do what works for you.
I also used an excel spreadsheet (the Accountant in me!) and started noting down how I would make the weekly blogs work. I started noting topics that would be of interest and sent out messages to my contacts to find out what topics they would want discussed. Since I’m no expert, I will also be calling on my fellow parents to share their experience and advice.
The greatest lesson I’ve learnt is to start where I’m at and not to wait until I have it all together. Lost time is never found again - Benjamin Franklin.
Let's go...stay tuned to our weekly Blogs.
